What happens afterwards

Aftercare options

After your pet has peacefully passed away, you have several options. We understand this can all feel a bit overwhelming so take your time and discuss with family and friends so you can choose the right option for you. Please remember, we are always here to help with any questions you may have.

Individual Cremation

This option is becoming increasingly popular. You can receive your pets ashes in caskets, scattering tubes or special urns (crematorium dependent). You can arrange cremation with a crematorium of your choice, or we can arrange it for you with the local crematoriums in our area. Depending on the location of the crematorium and size of pet, we can arrange to take your pet to the crematorium for a fee of £50. The price of cremation will be arranged with the crematorium.

Home Burial

Many people opt to bury their pet at home. It is important when choosing this option that you own the land and are able to bury your pet at a suitable depth. Due to the drugs that we use for euthanasia, it is important that no other animal could come into contact with them.

Communal Cremation

Communal cremation is where your pet will be cremated with other pets. You will not receive your pets ashes back but they are often scattered with the other pets. This is rarely offered by local crematoriums but can often be arranged with your local veterinary practice.
